The Power of Hot Liquid Asphalt & 15-Pound Roofing Felt
The hot mopping process effectively uses hot liquid asphalt (tar) and 15-pound roofing felt applied in multiple layers—typically three—over a pre-pitched substrate. This creates a strong waterproof membrane, often enhanced with modified bitumen cap sheets that can be torched on or fastened with nails, along with specific drains for optimal moisture protection.
Maximizing Durability & Leak-Proof Performance
The fiberglass finish process begins with the application of hot asphalt, followed by the installation of felt paper. Fiberglass mesh is added at seams and corners for reinforcement. Additional layers of asphalt and felt are then applied, creating a durable and watertight system.

Top Coat (Final Slurry): A thick layer of hot tar is expertly applied to encase the entire system, resulting in a seamless slurry coat that offers unparalleled protection.
